This week, I launched Different Resonance. Hull's newest marketing agency 😉
Which coincidentally means, I’ve QUIT freelancing. Maybe I should have made that the headline. 🤔 It’s definitely got more of a punch!
Anyway, Different Resonance… Who? What? Where? When? Why?
Different Resonance - the story behind the agency
Let’s rattle through those questions in order.
Who?
Well, for now it’s just me. 😁
But, this change does lay the foundations if I do choose to expand the team in the future.
In the meantime, the service offering will evolve using a network of freelancers and other small agencies. Similar to how I operated as a freelancer.
What?
As mentioned above, Different Resonance is Hull’s newest marketing agency. 🤪
To be more specific, it… I… we… are a content marketing agency.
We’ll be evolving from my freelancer days, so the agency will still have a focus on social media.
Our aim will be to help organisations (and individuals – we’ll still be doing the personal branding) look beyond the obvious to make more meaningful connections with their audience.
Where?
Hull.
It’s been a reoccurring theme in my journey so far and something I’m proud of.
Grew up just outside Hull. Went to university in Hull. Was part of the Hull 2017 team. Freelanced in Hull for 3 years.
And now my business is to be based in Hull.
To celebrate these Hull connections, I’ve created a Summer Quiz which you can find out more about here.
When?
Well, Different Resonance is publicly launched this week!
But, I officially became Director (oooh, get me) on April 1st. No seriously, April Fools Day. 🤣
Why?
It’s probably something I should have done from the start.
I was umming and ahing about whether to set up as self-employed or limited business when I first started out but opted for the freelance life.
Now don’t get me wrong, I’ve loved freelancing. But I always knew I wanted to own a business and potentially build an agency, so I should have probably chosen it earlier.
Once I’d set up as freelance, it was about proving I could do it and then building something sustainable.
I’m now at a point where I believe the switch won’t have an adverse effect on “the business”.
